BOTOX® Cosmetic
Injections
Many people have prematurely developed facial wrinkles as a result of
excess activity of the facial muscles, the so called "laugh lines" or
"frown lines". A new and exciting treatment for these lines using BOTOX® Cosmetic
injections is a solution for this group of patients. BOTOX® Cosmetic, or Botulinum
Toxin, is
a chemical which relaxes the muscle by blocking nerve stimulation. Originally
used for uncontrolled spasm of the eye muscles, clinicians have found
that by blocking the repetitive muscle activity, the resulting wrinkles
will soften and, in some cases, may be undetectable. BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used
to treat "laugh lines", "frown lines", "crows feet" and vertical bands
in the neck. And the best part is that there is no recovery period!
The effect of BOTOX® Cosmetic is temporary so repeated treatments may be needed
every 3 to 6 months. Eventually some of the prolonged muscle inactivity
may be permanent so that the treatments can be discontinued. Dr. Fata

Ultrasonic Liposuction
Ultrasonic liposuction (Ultrasound Assisted Lipoplasty or UAL) is a new technique in which a specialized liposuction instrument emits high frequency sound waves which liquefy the fat before it is removed. This technique has changed liposuction into a finesse procedure because the fat can be removed with greater precision and less trauma. Ultrasonic liposuction has greatly improved results in certain areas, such as the back, upper abdomen and breast, which had previously been resistant to traditional liposuction because of the high concentration of fibrous connective tissue.
